OUR VETERINARIAN

Dr. Walmsley’s journey officially began in high school, when she landed a job as a veterinary assistant. She moved to Wisconsin for college and continued working as an assistant until relocating to Minnesota, where she spent a few years before starting veterinary school. Upon graduation in 2000, Dr. Walmsley moved back to Ashland and worked as an associate veterinarian until she opened Lakeview Veterinary in 2014. 

Dr. Walmsley appreciates being a part of the process of reducing suffering and returning a beloved pet to a great quality of life. She also enjoys working with difficult dogs and cats, helping to make their veterinary visits as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Clinically, Dr. Walmsley has a special interest in ophthalmology due to its challenging nature. Restoring comfort, function, and vision to a pet in need is incredibly rewarding.

Outside of work, Dr. Walmsley has four adult children who live between Wisconsin and Minnesota. Her personal pets include Fats the cat and Doc the dog. Doc is the clinic blood and serum donor and spends most of his days chilling on a couch. Fats the dog-loving cat does little more than lounging on the couch with Doc. Besides animals, Dr. Walmsley’s other interests include sewing, needlecraft, Dirt Dash racing, and grooming her daughter’s horses for shows.
